Our Mission

PEYO’s mission is to encourage the youth of Parc-Extension and their families to develop their full potential, individually and collectively, by providing them with structured social services and cultural and sports activities. This commitment is rooted in respect for diversity, dignity, and empowerment of each individual.

PEYO reinforces this commitment through social pediatric services by offering dedicated health and legal services to children aged 0 to 17 living in vulnerable situations. This approach is based on valuing each child’s strengths and is per the principles outlined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Services we offer

Psychosocial Services
Psychosocial services play a crucial role in addressing the child's needs through regular or occasional collaborations with their parents and the community professionals who support them.
Therapeutic Care
Therapeutic care offers a nurturing environment and support for the child to express themselves through visual and performing arts. This approach aims to facilitate their understanding and management of emotional issues or other difficulties.
Psychomotricity
Psychomotricity offers tailored assistance for children facing challenges in motor skills, behaviour, relationships, or emotions, providing support tailored to their specific needs.
Educational Services
Educational services provide the child with a fun and stimulating environment while developing or acquiring new skills. This approach also promotes the early identification of potential difficulties. Additionally, the child benefits from personalized academic support and facilitated access to sports and cultural activities.
Interpretation
Communication plays a big role within psychosocial services. Communication between specialists, employees, parents, families and more importantly between families and specialists become necessary in order to assure full collaboration and comprehension on both parts. Within our services, we also offer translators that can help translate for parents and specialists. Several languages are available to the disposition of parents such as English, French, Bengali, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Spanish and more.
Activities
The center also offers activities outside of the center for all families in order to encourage more interactions between parents and children during different activities under a variety of contexts.
